2 Chronicles 16:12 - In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the LORD, but only from the physicians.

Psalm 90:10 - The length of our days is seventy years - or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

Psalm 127:2 - In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat - for he grants sleep to those he loves.

Proverbs 3:7,8 - Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Proverbs 12:25 - An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.

Proverbs 13:12 - Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

Proverbs 14:30 - A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.

Proverbs 15:30 - A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

Proverbs 16:24 - Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Proverbs 17:22 - A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs 18:14 - A man's spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?

Proverbs 19:2 - It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way.

Proverbs 19:3 - A man's own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the LORD.

Proverbs 20:25 - It is a trap for a man to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider his vows.

Proverbs 22:3 - A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.

Ecclesiastes 4:6 - Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.

Ecclesiastes 9:4 - Anyone who is among the living has hope - even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!

Isaiah 40:30,31 - Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isa 61:1-3 - The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion - to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.

Matthew 11:28-30 - Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

2 Corinthians 4:7 - But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

2 Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

Eph. 5:29,30 - After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church - for we are members of his body.

Colossians 2:8 - See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.

Colossians 2:23 - Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

1 Pt. 4:1 - Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin.

James 5:14,15 - Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
