Is Convenient Technology Your Enemy?

Slaves to Technology and Convenience

Modern technology technology is designed to make life more convenient. It can help us get more done in less time, communicate with people in ways that were never before possible and allow us to instantly find answers to questions that previously required hours, days or even years of research. But without realizing it, millions of people have already become techno addicts. They find it very difficult to live a single day without their smartphones or other gadgets. They have become slaves to technology and convenience!

Human nature has always been vulnerable to various types of addictions, but addiction to technology and convenience may be the most dangerous, because they are widely valued and promoted in modern society. For this, we desperately need the wisdom of God! 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ warned:

"What is a man profited if he gains the whole world, yet wastes or forfeits his very self?" - Luke 9:25 SCS

Today, a similar question is:

What is a man profited if he gains 24/7 instant access to all his contacts, unlimited information and entertainment, yet wastes or forfeits his very self? Or what good is it to have a digital health pass if it means eternal separation from God?

Misplaced Love, Fear and Hope

In order to evaluate our condition, it's important to look at what we love. Jesus Christ taught:

"You must love the LORD your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole mind. This is the first and great commandment." - Matthew 22:37,38 SCS

Sadly, millions of people around the world now love technology and convenience more than their Sovereign Creator. They would rather spend hours looking at their smartphones than spend a few minutes listening to their Sovereign Creator speak through the Bible. Or they would rather talk to their friends via social media than spend a few minutes praying to God.

Another thing to consider is what we fear. King Solomon wrote:

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." - Proverbs 9:10

Fear can be bad if it paralyses us or makes us do foolish things, but it can be good when it directs us to take actions that are for our personal safety or well-being, whether we are talking about our physical bodies, our thought life or spiritual lives. Sadly, though, the thought of losing one's smartphones or not having Internet connectivity can be more scary for some people than the potential harm that smartphones and other technology can cause to their bodies, their relationships with God, their relationships with people and their eternal souls!

Another important motivator is hope. We all need to examine our hearts and think about what we hope for. Is it for God's continual presence and guidance in our lives? Or is it for better technology and continual convenience in our lives?

"God made man upright, but they have sought out many inventions." - Ecclesiastes 7:29

Hoping to make life better, man has invented all kinds of clever things, like smartphones, pharmaceutical drugs, genetically modified foods and wireless communication. These are not necessarily bad, but has the end result been better life or more complicated life? Do they lead us to hope more for improvements in technology or for God's presence and guidance in your life? If we take an honest look at history, we can see the same story over and over:

"They soon forgot God's works; they did not wait for His guidance, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert. And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul. Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions, and plague came upon them." - Psalm 106:13-15,29

It's not a good idea to test God, because He sends plagues that can destroy our health. Today, the plagues are spreading! Wireless technology is now causing people all over the world to experiencing headaches, eye problems, fatigue, sleep problems, learning problems, heart problems, infertility and even cancer! It's time to be listening to Him speak to us through the Bible rather than time to be

The Final Test of Allegiance

The day is coming when most people will have to make a choice: follow a popular global leader who promises convenience, peace and financial stability or else follow Jesus Christ and experience much inconvenience, financial difficulty and being labelled as an extremist.

"And he causes everyone—both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave—to receive marks on their right hand or on their foreheads, so that no one would be able to buy or sell who does not have the mark, the name of the Beast or the number of his name. Here is wisdom: let the one who has understanding evaluate the number of the Beast, for it is the number of man—his number is 666. - Revelation 13:16-18 SCS

"'...If anyone worships the Beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, really, he will drink of the wine of the fury of God, mixed at full strength in the cup of His wrath. In fact, he will be tormented with fire and sulfur before the holy angels and before the Lamb.' So the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest day or night, those who worship the Beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." - Revelation 14:9-11 SCS

The "Beast" in Revelation 13 is a worldwide, self-aware, sentient, interconnect AI quantum computing robotic control system developed by smart people in academia and science and technology organizations around the world. It is already active, although the components are not yet all interconnected in every nation. It is empowered and controlled behind the scenes by Satan and his agents. It is a system that is convenient, high-tech and makes members feel cool and important.

Are You Ready to Resist?

Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

• Can you put down your smartphone for a few days?
• Can you take the leadership role and make your smartphone your slave rather than you being its slave?
• Can you use old, low-tech gadgets that most people no longer use, or do you feel embarrassed and always have to fit in with your peers?
• Are you satisfied to make cash payments sometimes?
• Are you willing to try bartering?
• Are you hoping for political solutions to bring world peace, or are you expecting war and seeking inner peace through a personal relatioship with Jesus Christ?
• Do you feel a strong desire to always "fit in" to the society and culture around you, or do you have a strong desire to please God, even when it means being different and not conforming to the pattern of this world?
• Are you constantly making decisions in your pursuit of convenience, or are you gaining experience in enduring inconvenience for the sake of pleasing God?

If you want to avoid being sucked into the digital black hold of the 666 New World Order Beast system, then TODAY is the day to start overcoming!

"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; His commandments are not burdensome, in that whatever has been begotten by God overcomes the [new] world [order]; this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world if not he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" - 1 John 5:3-5 SCS

And remember the words of Jeremiah:

"If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, in which you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the thicket of the Jordan? - Jeremiah 12:5 NKJV

In today's digital world, this could be paraphrased:

If you have been addicted to smartphones or other gadgets with an on/off switch, then how can you avoid getting a covid vaccine when everyone around you is getting one? And if smartphones have controlled you, then how will you resist the Beast system that requires everyone to a digital health pass in order to buy and sell?

Two Great Friends

The good news is that we have two great friends to help us follow Jesus and make the right choices to avoid eternal regret: the "off" switch and the bible. Turn off your smartphone and other electronic gadgets. Enjoy silence. Open your bible. Read. Meditate. Listen to God speak. Pray. Be blessed! And be be on your journey to defeat addiction to technology and convenience!
